How Can We Make It Easier For Them & Ourselves

The elderly have difficulty learning how to text messages on their cell phones. In Asia this is the cheaper and faster way to communicate especially when the intended receiver of the message is always in a meeting. It is therefore necessary for them but difficult because they are not used to these new gadgets plus their eyesight has already deteriorated. With patience, you can teach them so that your life becomes easier too.

The first thing to do is to get them a cell phone that can change the size of the letters to a bigger size so that they can read it. If they already have a cell phone but it does not have this feature then they will have to get eye glasses to be able to read the message and see what they are typing in their messages.

The second step is to teach them how to shorten their messages into lesser words so that the message that they will send will be shorter and easier to type in. This will take practice but remind them that practice makes perfect.

The third step is to teach them how to get into the create message portion or envelope icon of their cell phone. It is different for each cell phone so you will have to do this on your own.

The fourth step is to write down specific instructions to them on how to type their message on their cell phone. You can make your own or use the one entitled How to Send Text Messages on Cell Phones through the link below.

The last step is to test their knowledge by making them text a few close people without your help. They might need a few pointers from you after that and a reminder that practice makes perfect then they are on their own.

I wish you good luck and pray that you do not argue in the process. Think of the time and effort you will save when you can text each other already. You can do it!
